M & M & M & M
Not the most inspired title in the world, for which I apologize. We have been schlepping over to Oakland this week for Bean's new prosthetic eye and my brain is still stuck on 880 somewhere between an 18 wheeler and a beat up Camry with annoying bumper stickers. However, we get to pick it up tomorrow, so that will obviate the need for these schleps for at least a couple of months.
Our ocularist, Steve Young, is *the* guy to go to for Hallowe'en, I would bet: he is always good for some candy or soda handouts; I even heard that he gives bacon to a man whose wife is a vegetarian. I scored some almond clusters the other day, but Bean has been enjoying her first taste of M & Ms. We don't give her candy as a general rule, but I certainly don't mind the occasional treat, especially since she could stand to put on a few pounds anyway. What was so funny was watching her eat the M & Ms...she sort of gums them thoughtfully for a minute, then *CRUNCH*. I guess it loses something in the translation, but it's nice to have her eating more and more "big girl" food.
This morning we even tried Peanut Butter Toast Crunch, which didn't go down quite as easily as M & Ms, but it's a start.
